PAIN OF REGRET OR PAIN OF DISCIPLINE?

All of us have heard of these two terms somewhere in our lives, yet many of us have not given a conscious thought over it and so we fail to implement it in our lives. The concept is so simple to understand yet too strenuous to practise. The only thing that we have to understand is, pain is inevitable. Whatever we choose to do, we have to endure the pain regardless of the choice. Then why not choose the latter?

I have seen so many people in my life, who does not even give a thought about their lives and their choices. They live like animals, eating and sleeping. Only if money wasn’t important to survive, they might not even work. Then there are some, who do give a thought about their lives and choices but their minds are not in control of them, infact their minds control them. The latters are far better than the formers. The ones who do care about their choices and wants to make a difference in their life but are unable to do so because at present, their minds are controlling them, here’s a good turn for you that might help:

If you want to make a difference in your life, you have to control your mind. You have to first make sure that you dictate your mind rather than your mind dictating you. You see, slowly, with time, our minds starts taking up decisions on its own, based on the past experiences. Therefore, many of us, do not experience real growth in life. We get aged with the passing years but nothing much changes. To control your mind, you first have to move out of your comfort zone. Read this again, “MOVE OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE”, because their are many people from whom you must have heard this sentence, but how many times have you taken it seriously? The reason they say it is because until you move out of your comfort zone, you will never grow. And also, you will never know that your mind is controlling you. Your past is defining your future. In order to change your future and make it better, you need to work in present.

Growth asks for sacrifices. Sacrifices of sleep, pleasures, comforts and emotions of today. If not given those sacrifices, you have to live in the same circumstances and in the same environment as you were in from the very beginning. This is your task. Try doing it. Try to do something that you aren’t used to do or do anything out of your comfort zone. You’ll immediately realize that your mind starts controlling you, it’ll tell you reasons of not doing it. And a time will come when you’ll actually stop doing it, defeated by your mind.

Controlling your mind won’t be easy. Now here comes the basic question from where we started, Pain of Regret or Pain of Discipline? With regret will come darkness, nothing to see around, except darkness, it’ll take you nowhere; but with the discipline will come light, light that will bring success and satisfaction, and many other beautiful things that might be hard to see, with so many flashes of light in your eyes.

There will be days when your mind will control you, when your motivation is truncated. It won’t be easy but consistency is the key. Remind yourself in those times, Pain of Regret or Pain of Discipline? Darkness or light?
